Furthermore, the silly "drum roll to build up speed" is silly
Wow, that's a bit redundant ;)

Dang, Donkey Kong just got slapped in the face.  They'll be making a comeback soon, hopefully.

Did you see the other games? And Eddy complained about the lack of Bongos.

The other games that use the bongos are actually good. Not amazing, but good. Jungle Beat was beautiful, creative, and had an extra layer of depth to it with its combo system.

Donkey Konga was a rhythm game that was executed excellently.

This one? You can't even USE bongos in this one (which I pointed out twice) and even if you could, the game doesn't control near as well as Jungle Beat did.

since when has donkey kong been about bongos? only PRIMARILY used after RARE left.
that's why dk sucks, but even WITHOUT RARE i'm pretty sure nintendo could make the DK games better. they're just lazy

As the Gamecube died off and the Wii prepared for launch, Nintendo shifted development of two late GCN titles in an effort to convert them for Wii play. The first was the popular Super Paper Mario -- the other has finally arrived in the form of the less-than-stellar Donkey Kong Barrel Blast.

Wrong... there is that extremely obscure
2.5D Kirby game
. I'm kind of frustrated because EVERYONE has ignored it, and it has literally fallen off the earth. (It looks so good, too... I hate the fact that Nintendo hasn't showed this one off at all.)

Oh, and you might want to include Twilight Princess with that, too.

The irony is that this game, intended to utilize the GCN DK Bongo accessory, would have worked better with the drums than with the Wii.

Heh... that's so atupid... not making the game bongo-compatible.

@ korenshei you really don't need a bongo jawn if you have the wiimote. and plus, having the bongos would be harder because nintendo is trying to rid itself of wires and so putting the bongos would be a pain, IMO.

i think this game is a failed remake of Diddy kong racing, which is imo the best game franchise racing game of all time. cuz not only were there karts but also planes and hoverboats, which added total mayhem to the series.
and the fact they added game characters yet to be released like conker and banjo was pretty cool too.

this game, imo, is clearly a game not much thought of when preparing, because... the gameplay just fails miserably.

Lefty, in case you missed it, I pointed out in myu review that having bongos would make the game EASIER to play because jiggling Wiimotes is less precise than banging drums. Trust me.

And every DK game after DK 64 has been all about a gimmicky control scheme, in case you haven't noticed. :P

ALSO, that Kirby game hasn't been forgotten, I could've sworn Nintendo said it's still in dev. for the Wii -- maybe I'm wrong.

Totally looks like it's using the Melee engine.

Diddy Kong racing was actually really good.

Also, that Kirby game isn't the only 2.5D Kirby game -- play the one on 64.

DK's been about bongos for the past few years, which is why I said that it was lately.
Also, Jungle Beat was pretty good for what it was, and those same guys went on to make Mario Galaxy. All of the OTHER DK games lately haven't been Nintendo developed, though.
