...I like you already ^_^

Yea, I've had the "islands growing together" discussion with Henrie numerous times already, but he likes that theory too much :P

But yea your theory is the most plausible. They did say ST takes place about a 100 years after PH anyway, so...but for the exact same reasons you listed, I always thought the same. The end of TWW kinda makes that clear. They want to find new lands to settle and carry out their duty as Hero and Princess of Hyrule.

Thanks! And a lot of people were worried about it only being on the DSi  but the trailer says Nintendo DS at the beginning, so it will be on both. If it was only on the DSi it would say so on the trailer. Besides Nintendo doesn't do stuff like that.

As for the idea of there being a train in Zelda, I think it is cool! I love trains and steampunk stuff. As long as Link never uses a gun and the games don't go futuristic, I'm okay.

Oh, and some people were talking about how the phantom-like guy was only in one level. But keep in mind most of the video was from the demo. Plus he's in the official art and I don't think that they'd have him there so much he wasn't around the whole time.

I think it was confirmed (Or hinted at, at least) by Miyamoto that it'll be in all the dungeons, no? ???

As far as I have heard the phantom is used in dungeons...wich means that it is used in more then one dungeon! But if he will be used in all dungeons, that's up for grabs. Hopefully he won't make the game even more easy, but I fear he will. Just look at the scene where he is attacking a Zora in the front, while Link is hitting the Zora in the back. Zora's were quite powerful and troublesome in Ph, but I think they won't be this time thanks to the phantom.

Update:

American release-date:  December 7

Remember my box-art rant? Just look what we Europeans get!
http://www.hyrule.net/forum/index.php?/topic/13282-spirit-tracks-euro-box-art/

Much better then the copy-paste job you Americans get!

By the way: There will also be a Limited edition of Spirit tracks. It's a metal box with inside the actual game and 2 Zelda figurines (Link and a phantom). However, they look like the same figurines from Phantom hourglass, but still nice to have if you aren't already owning them. However I fear this Limited edition won't hit Europe. "And how does one get the special limited edition, eh?"

If only I knew! I did send Nintendo a email with the question: Will it also hit Europe and can I buy it in any shop? That's important for me since I don't want to buy it via a webshop. But they have not replied yet...

I wish the limited edition also had an alternate cover. that would be great, however I do look forward to getting this. Even if the game takes a century after Phantom Houglass, I would want to hear what happened to Tetra and the crew, Linkbeck's whereabouts, and Link.

You could always print the other slip and use it instead of the standard one... That's what I'm doing.

New trailer
The new trailer shows parts of the intro movie and some gameplay bits, so spoiler alert! It’s a very nice trailer, though. Here is the link: http://www.zentendo.com/news.php?newsId=2995

Story
SPOILER, SPOILER, SPOILER!!!
It seems that I was right about the ghost-train! A long time ago the demon king (it must be Ganondorf, who else?) was terrorizing Hyrule. After a long struggle they sealed him away in another world. And that world got sealed by a tower and some chains called: The spirit tracks. People also use the spirit tracks for train-travelling (don’t ask me why).

One day Link goes to the castle for a ceremony. There he will become a true train conductor. But princess Zelda gives Link the route to her chamber. There she tells that she doesn’t trust chancellor Cole and that the spirit tracks are vanishing. Link gets his green garb from Zelda so he can blend into the castle (all guards are wearing green clothes) and he must sneak princess Zelda out of the castle and use the Spirit train to reach the tower of Spirits. There they will meet the sage called Anjean. Anjean belongs to the Locomoco race (I don’t make this up guys). But during their travel the track beneath them disappears. The train crashes and a ghost-train appears. The ghost train has a face (I wonder if it is Ganondorfs face or the king of Hyrule's face. But since I think Ganondorf will be the main villain, I guess it is Ganondorfs face). Chancellor Cole also appears and attacks Zelda. Zelda’s soul leaves her body, and her body gets stolen by the bad guys. They want to use her body to revive the demon king. Link must restore the spirit tracks and bring Zelda’s soul back to her body.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All in one a not so original Zelda plot, but as long as the gameplay is good I am happy.
New features
-Link travels by train. He can go faster, slower, or reverse the train. He can also shoot with a cannon at enemies and use a whistle to scare animals. You can draw the route on the map, but I don’t think that you have as much drawing freedom as in Ph. When you restore some tracks, you can reach new areas. During travel you will also battle bosses. And you will also meet other trains. I also heard that you can customise the train, just as you could with the boat from Ph. The hourglass at the beginning of the trailer indicates that there is a time-limit to some of the travels. The train is also used for the multiplayer.

-This game also has one central dungeon: The tower of Spirits. The different parts of the tower have started to fload. However, Anjean uses her power to pull the base to the ground so that you can start exploring, and I guess she will also pull the other parts down during the game. Don’t worry though, it seems this time there is no time-limit and you can skip parts you have already done via a staircase. In this tower you have to find Stone maps, probably so that you know where you have to go next.

-The phantoms are back and evil as ever. However, Princess Zelda’s spirit accompanies you on your journey. And when you find 3 tears of light in a dungeon (Tp, anyone?), Links sword starts to glow and you can attack the phantom in the back. In the trailer you also see what looks like a silver force gem. Ign states that this is one of the tears. Doesn't look like a tear at all! After that Zelda posseses the phantom and you can control the phantom. So you can finally play as Zelda, but not in the way you where expecting/hoping. You and the phantom have to work together to clear dungeons. Phantoms can walk through spikes, fire and lava. They can raise you on their shields and they can attack enemies. If the phantom is to far off, you can use the whistle to call him. If the phantom encounters a rat it starts to shiver, since there is a girl (Zelda) inside the armor. A funny addition!

-There are also new items such as the whip and a propeller. You can use the whip (wich has a snake-face) to hit enemies and cross gaps. You can use the propeller to blow enemies and items away, or to blow things back to certain foes. You use the propeller by pointing with the stylus and blowing into the microphone.

-Link can still roll around but they made it easier this time. Just touch the edge of the screen and you start rolling.

-One of the pirates called Alfonzo is also in the game, but I guess it isn’t the original Alfonzo.  After all, this takes place 100 years after Ph. In this game Alfonzo is the master-engineer and Links teacher. I also read somewhere that he was a guard of Hyrule in the past.
Well, I wasn’t that interested at first but after seeing this new trailer I am pretty excited. I think this game can be as good, or maybe even better then Ph!

ps: The limited edition also comes to Europe, but I do not think you can buy it in every shop.

Cool, new tidbits I didnt know about. I do like the concept of a central dungeon, its just that PH didnt pull it off as well as it could have, and it sounds like ST might do a better job at it.

I am excited for this game...

I know the limtied edition is going on at GAME in the UK (hence my going of the preorders, yes I know that was broken English).

I'm still a bit "ooh-err" over the game, at least the story looks to be better than Phantom Hourglass' story.  Apparently the gameplay is a bit dry though.  At least that limited edition stuff looks well nice XD

Listen when you have a race called the Locomoco thats when you've just become too sad. It doesn't even sound like something from Zelda.

Besides Nintendo doesn't do stuff like that.

Ha! Nintendo is becoming one of the cheapest game companies. They'd do anything to get into your wallets. And I mean anything.
