During a Q&A session in Tokyo, Miyamoto declared that the next Wii version of The Legend of Zelda will make use of the Wii MotionPlus add-on for greater control in swordplay and more,. “In this (installment of the series), we’re using MotionPlus to make you feel much more like you’re actually fighting while holding a sword in your hand,” the Zelda creator said.MotionPlus will also be used to target things on screen in place of the Wii’s infrared sensor. In the previous game, you aimed at things by pointing at the screen, but this time we’ll use MotionPlus to create a much more convenient targeting system and a more pleasurable playing experience.” Latest Comments

Great, I'll have to buy motion plus also!

So out of the blue, but coool.
Totally interested in this new targeting system...I guess with Motion Plus, Z-Targeting isn't as practical?

I hope you still point at the screen to use your bow, because if you have to do Wii Sports Resort style then I'll be pissed.

I liked Z-Targeting Also, it is just me, or a first person perspective is slightly hinted? My god, i'm dying to find out

I'm interested in seeing how the M+ based targeting system works out.

This'll get the attention of all those inactive users. This is good, though. This probably means that Link will be right-handed, but I can live with that. That doesn't matter to me.

I don't think he meant targeting as in the Z-targeting, I think he meant aiming the bow ala Wii Sports Resort. He DID mention targeting without the infra-red sensors, I don't believe the Z-button was linked to the infra-red sensor, do you?

Idk, some websites say "target", others say "aim". And you can Z target while still using aiming weapons as well. Oh well, they'll clarify eventually.
Whichever way it is, it sounds interesting anyway.

Neither the rest of us xD, but I don't see any upcoming and relevant event except for next year's E3 to show it

I actually don't want to see ANYTHING >.< I already feel spoiled beyond belief by the little info that we have... I want to play a Zelda without knowing anything about it, like I did with Link's Awakening and Zelda NES... I'm extremely bad at info-dodging when it comes to videogames >.<
Santuli November 05, 2009, 01:06 PM
But that's central to how the game is played...I mean I understand if you dont want to know more specific details, like story elements, or the collectibles in the game, or the items...
I avoided as many spoilers as I could manage for TP, but I remember not everything. I remember The Hylia had a color coded system for spoilers and would label them. The green ones I usually would look at. I think I ended up knowing about the Golden Bugs and Poe Souls that way, which I think the info was taken from Nintendo Power's Guide.

M+ in the new Zelda is old news, isn't it? Also, it is just me, or a first person perspective is slightly hinted?
I know what you mean, and the thought crossed my mind, but I don't think they would make such a radical change as that. Because if they did, I know I wouldn't be the only one who'd be ticked. This'll get the attention of all those inactive users.

Yep, proof indeed But not, Miyamoto said they would consider its use based on the success of M+. It wasnt 100% sure, and even then he said they didnt know if it would be a requirement or more of an optional feature I think. So this confirms it for sure, and kinda speaks for M+'s success I guess.
